Following the Instructions

A few days ago, I planned on going to a print shop that I had never been to. I talked to the gentlemen that owned the shop that day, and I was sure that he was located off of Main Street. Later on, I put the address he gave me into my phone and pulled up the directions. As I started traveling, I realized that I was headed toward the complete opposite side of town. I wondered what I should do. I looked to make sure I had put in the address correctly that he gave me. I saw that I did indeed put it in correctly. I figured I would just follow the instructions on my phone and hope for the best.

The entire 15 minute trip I kept thinking of Main Street! I was going in a completely different way than I had imagined, so I just kept telling myself to trust my directions. I made my final turns and pulled onto the road where I hoped to see the shop I was destined for. I looked around and saw a young lady out front smiling and waving at me! Yay! I had made it! It wasn’t the way I would have gone on my own, but following the directions got me there perfectly :-).

That print shop owner does not care about me more than my God does. He let me know how to get to his shop and the Lord shows me how to get through life! He left me many instructions for my time here on earth so that I can navigate much better than I would trying to figure it out on my own!

Psalm 119:165

Those who love your instructions have great peace and do not stumble.

I love the Lord’s instructions to me! They give me great peace and help me to not get off track :-).

Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.

God’s word is light for which paths to take in life. People that don’t take the time to learn His Word and follow His instructions are trying to make it through life in the dark. Why would anyone want to do that? I want to live my life in the light of God’s Word. It may show me things that I will have to do differently than I would naturally do on my own. But, if I trust it and follow it, it will lead me directly to life and life more abundantly :-).

I need God’s instructions for my life. They hold the key to experiencing the life I was created to live. I trust them completely.

Father God, thank You for giving me such amazing instructions to live by. Thank You for all the amazing teachings in Your Word! I love them and love to learn all about them. Thank You for helping me follow Your instructions, even when I naturally want to do something else. I trust You and want to follow You.
